Phast 855T FPGA Evaluation Kit

Overview  

         The Phast 855T FPGA Evaluation Kit is ideal for rapidly prototyping embedded applications that require intelligent processors to be glued into networks with physical interfaces that traditionally don’t facilitate CPU integration.  The Phast FPGA Evaluation Kit equips an engineering team with everything needed to start development immediately.

Evaluation Kits are composed of a Phast 855T CPU Board, a Phast Link Personality Module, a Power Supply, and an RS-232 serial cable to support a standard console interface.  The Phast Link Personality Module provides interface to a memory mapped Xilinx FPGA and RS-422 drivers for synchronous serial links in addition to a 10/100BaseT LAN and RS-232 terminal port.  Of course, since the FPGA is also wired to a high density Samtec Connector, connections to virtually any type of TTL interface are possible.

Technical Features

• Single Board Computer complete with MPC855T CPU, SDRAM memory, FLASH memory, and 100BaseT Ethernet 
• Utilizes Motorola’s 32-bit MPC855T PowerPC CPU at either 50 MHz or 80 MHz operation
• Installed with 8 Mbytes of SDRAM and 2 Mbytes of FLASH leaving plenty of space for even the most complex application development
• BDM interface to support Macraigor’s Wigglerä debug tool
• LEDs to indicate Power, Ethernet Link, and Ethernet Activity
• RJ-45 100BaseT Ethernet, RS-232 level converter, RS-422 level converters, and memory mapped Xilinx FPGA are provided on the Phast Link Personality Module
• Operates in a standard temperature range of up to 0 to 70° C
