Overview

            ThePhast 855T Base Evaluation Kit is ideal for rapidly prototyping embedded applications that utilize the Motorola 855T PowerPC Processor.  The Base Evaluation Kit includes everything needed to start development.  Phast 855T Evaluation Kits are ideal for rapidly prototyping embedded applications that require interfaces to Local Area Networks with minimal maintenance development costs. The Phast 855T Base Evaluation Kit is equipped with a Phast 855T CPU, a Phast 855T Extender Card, a Power Supply, and an RS-232 serial cable to support a standard console interface. 

     The Phast 855T Extender Card allows a developer to interface the 855T Processor with a 10/100BaseT LAN and (2) RS-232 terminal ports.  The extender board also maps the Address Bus, Data Bus, DMA signals, and most GPIO signals to easily accessed headers for analysis with an oscilloscope and/or logic analyzer.  For applications that require interfaces to RS-422 and other specialized interfaces, please reference the Phast Link Personality Module.

• Single Board Computer complete with MPC855T CPU, SDRAM memory, FLASH memory, and 100BaseT Ethernet 
• Utilizes Motorola’s 32-bit MPC855T PowerPC CPU at either 50 MHz or 80 MHz operation
• Installed with 8 Mbytes of SDRAM and 2 Mbytes of FLASH leaving plenty of space for even the most complex application development
• BDM interface to support Macraigor’s Wigglerä debug tool
• LEDs to indicate Power, Ethernet Link, and Ethernet Activity
• CPU Address Bus, Data Bus, DMA Controller, and most GPIO signals are made accessible to standard 0.1” Headers.
• RJ-45 100BaseT Ethernet and RS-232 level converters are provided on the Extender Card
• Operates in a standard temperature range of up to 0 to 70° C

The Base Evaluation Kit includes a CPU Board, Extender Card, Power Supply, and (2) Serial Cables.  For orders of 20 units or more, the CPU Board can be assembled with the RJ-45 and RS-232 connectors eliminating the need to also purchase the Extender Card or Personality Module.
